POETRY
Before, After By Georgia Bernhard Before is abundance. Before is liberty. Before is the bliss Of not knowing. Of letting your expectations run Free. Before is two worlds given Without a thought. Before is an escape. Before is luxury. After is the truth. After is sinking down With the fallen expectations. After is making a way, While saddled with The harsh reality Of knowing what is, And is not. After is reflection. After is wondering of What could have been. After is a new, tainted leaf. After is scarcity. |

Some Truck By Georgia Bernhard The whirring of the mower stops What’s left is the noises of the weed whacker, Almost like when the music stops And all that’s left is the piercing chatter of guests. Then with an anticlimactic air, I heard a car engine rev. The truck pulled away almost immediately, In accordance with the silence left by its tools. I heard a car again. The most peculiar, Most human part of me Hoped that it would be the Landscapers’ truck again. I don’t know why. But I think that I wanted the story To continue. However small that story was. |

POETRY
The Only Kind By Argie Loucopoulos All I see around me are tulips. Why am I the only daisy? I looked far and close, it’s useless. I am beginning to get lazy. I can’t get out of the ground, My roots are holding me tight. I don’t have a face but I am starting to frown. Maybe the tulips are right. I could ask the tulips even if they’re not nice. I leaned over and asked have you seen another daisy. I have not seen any other, believe me, I checked not once but twice. I feel like they are lying, they are either lazy or crazy. Hopefully, I’ll find one soon. I don’t want to be the only kind It's getting late I see the moon, Maybe I’m just becoming blind. |
POETRY
Quarantine By Argie Loucopoulos We all wondered why this has happened now? Have we done something wrong, In the beginning, everybody was just following along Now we are all becoming down. We wish it could just go away, For it to find somewhere else than on Earth to play. It has more than flaws, It's like an angry bear with enormous claws. It took away people we love, That we wanted to stay. We will never forget all of the people above, That we used to have a happy day. We will remember those who took part in these times, Nurses, doctors, police officers, firefighters, workers, and you. We will remember those, daytime and night times, Who sacrifice their life for them and you too. |

POETRY
Blue Ink Pen
By Georgia Bernhard
The dull drum beats
Sitting pretty in the
Confines of normalcy
And convention
And an overwhelming
Need--
The dull drum beats
Exception to be observed,
And desired, then
Forgotten--
The dull drum beats
Feeling the daggers
And stinging
And reversion
Then wiping it all
Away, with a
Kleenex and some roses--
The dull drum beats
Categorization and titles
And subtlety
Feeling fine--
The dull drum beats
Looking up
At
The ceiling
Then seeing the
Dark.
The dull drum
Stops.
